Sustainability Performance and Targets: RELINE at BU Bregal Unternehmerkapital’s Annual General Meeting

At the Annual General Meeting 2025 of BU Bregal Unternehmerkapital, the largest mid-cap investor headquartered in the DACH region, RELINE’s CFO Patrick Heimpold presented the company’s sustainability performance along with the ambitious targets it has set for the years ahead.

Delivering Measurable Environmental Impact

As a leading provider of trenchless pipe rehabilitation, RELINE relies on innovative technologies that measurably reduce environmental impact.

The effectiveness of RELINE’s solutions is already reflected in tangible performance indicators: In 2024 alone, the use of UV liner technology helped avoid approximately 55,000 tons of CO₂e emissions. Trenchless rehabilitation eliminates extensive excavation work, reduces the use of heavy machinery, and significantly shortens construction times—resulting in direct positive effects on local emissions.

Additionally, the technology contributes to reducing water losses. In Europe, an estimated 25% of drinking water is lost due to pipe leakages. The pipeline length rehabilitated with RELINE liners in 2024 corresponds to annual water saving of around 540,000 cubic meters.

Ambitious Climate Targets and Emission Reduction Across the Value Chain

RELINE has set itself the goal of achieving climate neutrality in its own operations by end of 2027, covering Scope 1 and 2 emissions as defined by the GHG Protocol. Key measures include the use of renewable energy at production sites, more efficient manufacturing processes, and the gradual electrification of the vehicle fleet.

A major lever for further emission reduction lies in the materials used, as a significant share of originates from raw materials. “That’s why our R&D and procurement teams are working closely with suppliers to develop a new generation of low-emission liners,” says Patrick Heimpold.

Driving Sustainable Standards Across the Industry

Beyond its own operations, RELINE is committed to promoting sustainability across the industry. In collaboration with associations, customers, and municipalities, the company contributes to the development of standards such as Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and supports the integration of sustainability criteria into public procurement processes.

This approach fosters greater transparency and provides more reliable decision-making bases for contracting authorities and planning firms. At the same time, it underscores RELINE’s ambition to consistently link technical innovation with measurable ecological benefits.

Through this holistic approach, RELINE aims to enable sustainable growth while making a long-term contribution to environmental and resource protection
